Summarize the key factors DNA polymerase requires to replicate DNA.
vaieri [72.5K]

Answer:

Explanation:

DNA polymerase is an enzyme that helps in the synthesis of new strands of DNA. It is found in both prokaryote and eukaryotes. In prokaryotes, there are 3 types of DNA polymerase and more DNA polymerase found in eukaryotes.

The 3 types of DNA polymerase are DNA polymerase I, DNA polymerase II, DNA polymerase III. The DNA pol I and DNA pol II helps in DNA repair rather than DNA replication. The DNA pol III is the major enzyme that initiates the replication.

DNA polymerase III is a multisubunit enzyme that functions as a dimer of these multiple subunits. The DNA polymerase enzyme has 3 significant enzymatic activities -

All DNA polymerase direct the synthesis of DNA from 3' to 5' end.

It possesses 3' to 5' exonuclease activity. It also helps in proofreading activity by replacing the incorrect nucleotides with the correct base sequence.

Some DNA polymerase has a 5' to 3' exonuclease activity. It is found in the lagging strand.

DNA polymerase is not able to initiate DNA synthesis alone. They need a free 3' end, where the enzyme can add new nucleotides. It means they require 2 primers to initiate the DNA replication in both the direction.

The strands act as complementary to the DNA polymerase. The DNA polymerase adds new strands continuously in 5' to 3' direction in the leading strand. While in lagging strand short fragments of DNA formed. Later they attached by DNA ligase.

DNA polymerase also needs RNA polymerase in some cases to start replication. Such a process is called reverse transcription.

Biology & Behavior: Evolution & Genetics
Why people behave the way they do?
xxTIMURxx [149]

People behave the way they do because of situation as well as genetics.

Why people behave the way they do?

People behave as they do in response to the way they are treated by other people as well as in response to situation. In their behaviour, they have also a genetic factor that influence their behaviour.

So we can conclude that people behave the way they do because of situation as well as genetics.

How do ldl and hdl differ structurally and functionally?
ZanzabumX [31]

The main structural difference between LDL and HDL is their compositions. Approximately 50% of the weight of an LDL particle is cholesterol and only 25% is protein. High-density lipoprotein particles, on the other hand, consist of 20% percent cholesterol by weight and 50% protein.

A Church spire in a form of a regular hexagonal pyramid whose base edge is 8ft and whose altitude is 75ft is to be painted at a
ollegr [7]
Given:
base edge - 8 ft
altitude or height - 75 ft

Surface area = [(3√3)/2] a² + 3a[√h² + (3a²/4)]
S.A = 2.6*8² + 3(8) * √75² + [(3*8²)/4]
S.A = 166.4 + 24 * √5625 + 48
S.A = 166.4 + 24 * √5674
S.A = 166.4 + 24 * 75.33
S.A = 166.4 + 1807.92
S.A = 1974.32 ft²

convert square feet to square yard.

1 sq ft = 0.1111 sq yd

1974.32 ft² * 0.1111 sq.yd/sq.ft = 219.35 sq yd.

22 per sq. yard

219.35 sq. yard * $22/sq.yd = $4,825.70

Total cost is $4,825.70

"why is petroleum the primary fuel used for transportation in the united states? i. it has a high energy value per unit volume.
xxMikexx [17]
Petroleum is the primary fuel used for transportation in the US because it has a high energy value per unit volume and it has a quick start and stop times for providing energy. Additionally, petroleum is extremely easy to extract, it is a high density fuel, can also be transported over long distances and provides fuel that works with our infrastructure.
