So let's say the amounts are "a" and "b", at 6% and 8% respectively.

how much is 6% of a?  well (6/100) * a, or 0.06a.
how much is 8% of b?  well (8/100) * b, or 0.08b.

so hmm whatever "a" and "b" amounts are, we know that their yield is $100, thus 0.06a + 0.08b = 100.

now, there's more money in "a" than in "b", 500 bucks more, so whatever "b" is, we know that a = b + 500.

\bf \begin{cases}
0.06a+0.08b=100\\
\boxed{a}=b+500\\
----------\\
0.06\left( \boxed{b+500} \right)+0.08b=100
\end{cases}
\\\\\\
0.06b+0.08b+30=100\implies 0.02b=70\implies b=\cfrac{70}{0.02}
\\\\\\
b=3500

how much was deposited in the 6% one?  well, a = b + 500.

1)
45x^3+5x
the GCF is 5x because that is a factor of both.
The answer would be 5x(9x^2+1)

2)
u^2-5u+6
factoring is finding what multiplies to the last number to add to the middle number. Those numbers are -3 and -2.
the answer would be (u-3)(u+2)

3)
m^2-49
difference of perfect squares
answer is (m+7)(m-7)

4)
x^5+4x^4+3x^3
GCF is x^3 so it's x^3(x^2+4x+3)
Factor that and it's x^3(x+3)(x+1)

The pizza has an area of 78.5 in². What is the minimum width of a placemat that can be placed underneath it so that the pizza do
PolarNik [594]

Answer:

<em>10 inches</em>

<em></em>

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Area of pizza = 78.5 in²

To find:

Minimum width of placement to be placed underneath the pizza so that it does not touch the table?

Solution:

We are actually required to find out the diameter of the circular pizza here.

That will be the minimum width of the placement to be placed underneath the pizza so that pizza does not touch the table.

Let us have a look at the formula of area of a circle.

A=\pi r^2

Where r is the radius of the circle

We are given that

A = 78.5\ in^2

\Rightarrow 78.5 = \pi r^2\\\Rightarrow 78.5 = 3.14\times r^2\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{78.5}{3.14} = r^2\\\Rightarrow r^2=25\\\Rightarrow r =5\ in

Now, we know that the diameter is given as twice of the radius.

So, minimum width required = Diameter = 2 \times 5 = <em>10 inches</em>

A pen cost half as much as a ruler. Write an expression to describe how much the pen cost, using r as the cost of the ruler.
