The accounting equation is assets = liabilities + owner’s equity.
Anon25 [30]

Answer:

A. Why must this equation always balance?

It must balance because all the assets that firm controls have been acquired either by external funding (liabilities), or by internal funding (owner's equity).

This also explains the relationship between economic resources and claims to economic resources. Economic resources (assets) are either the claim of an external agent that has to be paid in the future (liability), or the claim of one of the company's owners who could in theory dissolve the company and take possession of the company's assets (equity).

B. What transactions increase or decrease owner’s equity?

Profits increase owner's equity, as well as capita contributions, whether in the form of stocks, equipment, or other financial instruments.

Costs and expenses are substracted from revenues, and therefore they reduce profits, and owner's equity.

C. How does net income or loss affect owner’s equity?

A net income profit increases owner's equity, while a net income loss decreases owner's equity.

D. Please give an example of a transaction, applied to the accounting equation.

ABC corporation issues 1,000 common stocks with par value of $5, and a price per stock of $7. The journal entry is:

Account                                    Debit                Credit

Cash                                        $7,000

Common Stock                                                 $5,000

Additional Paid-In Capital                                $2,000

In this transaction, cash is an asset and common stock and additional paid-in capital are part of the stockholder's equity. The corporation does not have any liabilities yet.

ABC Corp accounting equation = Assets = Liabilities + Stockholder's equity

                                                     = $7,000 = 0 + $7,000

As can be seen, the accounting equation is true even in the earliest stages of the corporation.

Vsevolod [243]

Answer:

Optimal batch size to produce= 5.56 slices

Explanation:

Selling rate of sandwich = 50 / hour

No of slices used per hour = 50* 2 =100 ( each sandwich use 2 slices)

No of loafs which gets baked in an hour = 7

No of sandwich slices which get produuced in an hour = 7*20 =140

No of sandwich which can be produce = 10/2 =70

So every hour no of slices to be hold = 40

No fo loaf to be hold = 40/20 =2

Cost of holding = 0.8* 1 =0.8

Cost of running a new batch = $3*2 = $6

Selling each sandwich = $12.95

Saving = $12.95 - $6 =$6.95

Optimal batch size = saving * ( Holding cost) = 6.95 *0.8 = 5.56 slices

Your company has completed an audience analysis for the manual you are writing for users of a new accounting system. The manual
elena55 [62]

Answer:

By finding a factor that all have in common: that they are currently in the company and know how it works.

Explanation:

The manual that employees will have aboutthe new accounting system has to be the easiest to ready as possible. As the text mentions, in the company I have experienced accountants and others that are not and employees from different degree levels. Some might understand certain infromation and some might not.

However, what they all have in common is that they are all working in the company and know the current accounting system, because is something that concerns them, even though they have years working them, are new or are not going to last longer.

The best I can do is take advantage of that fact and show them the differences between the old accounting system with the new ones, by that way they will be able to land the information and understand it correctly.
