Answer:

Working together they will complete the work on 7.5 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given computer technician can set up a network in 12 hours.

He will complete \frac{1}{12} part of the work in 1 hour.

The Intern takes 20 hours to set up the same network.

The Intern will complete \frac{1}{20} part of the work in 1 hour.

If they work together part of work completed in 1 hour =

\frac{1}{12} +\frac{1}{20}

The LCM of denominator is 60.Making denominator same and adding the fractions we have:

\frac{1}{12}+\frac{1}{20}  =\frac{5+3}{60} =\frac{8}{60} =\frac{2}{15}

Together working they will complete the work in 1 ÷\frac{2}{15} =\frac{15}{2} =7.5 hours.

Find the area of the shaded region in the figure below. 5in. 8in.
Fiesta28 [93]

Hi there!

<u>Answer:</u>

The area of the shaded region is 28 in²

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

You will have to do 3 different steps in order to find the area of the shaded region.

First, you will need to find the total area of the rectangle using the values you have and the area formula for a rectangle, which is : A = Length × Width

"A" is the area, which is what we are looking for

The "Length" is equal here to 8 inches

The "Width" is equal here to 5 inches

A = <u>8 × 5</u>

A = 40 in²

Now that you have the area of the rectanlge, your second step is to find the area of the triangle using the values you have and the area formula for a triangle, which is : A = (Base × Height) ÷ 2

"A" is the area, which is what we are looking for

The "Base" is equal here to 8 inches

The "Height" is equal here to 3 inches

A = <u>(8 × 3)</u> ÷ 2

A = <u>24 ÷ 2</u>

A = 12 in²

Now that you have both the area of the rectangle and the area of the triangle, all you have to do for your third and final step is subtract the area of the triangle from the area of the rectangle so that you are left with the area of the shaded region :

Area shaded region = <u>40 in² - 12 in²</u>

Area shaded region = 28 in²

There you go! I really hope this helped, if there's anything just let me know! :)

Kwame says that the ordered pair(5,0) is on the y-axis. So you agree? Justify your answer.
RideAnS [48]

Answer:

No, the answer would be on the x-axis. This is because x=5 and y=0, which would mean that the ordered pair (5,0) would be on the x-axis.

Hope this helps!

WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST!!!
Andrews [41]
The 13 stripes alternate red and white: 7 red and 6 white.
Each of 13 stripes is (39 in. / 13) = 3 in. wide.
4 of the 7 red stripes are 39 in. long. The other 3 are 65 in. long.

The total area (l*w) of the flag is (65 in.)*(39 in.)=2535 sq. in.

The red stripes make up an area (l*w) that is:
4*(area of short stripes) + 3*(area of long stripes)
Red area is 4*(39*3) + 3*(65*3) = 1053 sq in.

The fraction of the flag that is red is:
1053 sq. in. / 2535 sq. in.

Find inverse of f(x)=3x+1
Ratling [72]
First, replace f(x) with y.

So we have now:

y = 3x + 1

Next, switch the x and y.

We get:

x = 3y + 1

Finally, solve for y.

3y = x - 1

y = x/3 - 1/3

So, we have f(x) = 3x + 1, and the inverse of this function is:

\boxed{f^{-1}(x) = \frac{1}{3} x - \frac{1}{3}}\\\\OR\\\\\boxed{f^{-1}(x) = \frac{x-1}{3}}

MrMuchimi

Answer:

5

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 5x - 5 \\ equating \: it \: with \\ y = mx  + b \\ slope \: (m) = 5

Parallel lines have same slope.

So, slope of required line = 5
