This theory would be "utilitarianism" - the belief that we should maximize the "utility" - the well being of everyone.

So this idea believes that animals should not die for our entertainment because our benefit (say, the joy of hunting) is less than their suffering (at being shot by a hunter).

It is opposed to an anthropocentric view, which says that we can use animals for whatever purpose we see fit.

The correct answer is panicky.
The author himself says that there were a lot of things around him that made him feel nervous, or the exact word he used is - panicky. I don't know the context, however, based on this excerpt it seems that he went through something dangerous or tragic that made him feel panicky about many things around him.

Tariffs and import quotas can reduce unemployment in a U.S. import industry, but a. foreign countries could impose nontariff bar
Licemer1 [7]

Answer:

b. the U.S. economy could falter, and jobs would decrease anyway

Explanation:

Unemployment cannot be reduced only with restrictive measurements like tariffs and import quotas.

Growth of production is significanlty more effective in the increase of employment in an import industry. Production growth is generally the result of a more competitive economy plus investment. As a consequence, imports will be reduced because products made internally will replace imported ones.
