J + m = 84
j = m - 24

m - 24 + m = 84
2m - 24 = 84
2m = 84 + 24
2m = 108
m = 108/2
m = 54...the mom is 54

j = m - 24
j = 54 - 24
j = 30 <==== Jessie is 30

Okay, to begin. Jessie is 24 years younger than her mother. So what we should first do is to subtract every possible age by 24 years. Which leaves us with 30, 6, and 4. Now if the sum of their ages is 84, we need to take all of the possibilities and add them to the other possibilities I've created.

30 + 54 = 84
6 + 30 = 36
4 + 28 = 32

Therefore, Jessie is 30 years old.

There is 5/6 of an apple pie left from dinner. Tomorrow, Victor plans to eat 1/6 of the pie that was left. How much of the whole
Lady_Fox [76]
5/6 = 83%
1/6= 16%

83% of the apple pie was left from dinner.
Victor is gonna eat 16% of the pie tomorrow
You have to subtract 16% from 83%
In other words 5/6-1/6

The denominators are same so you don't have to do anything to them
5/6 - 1/6

5-1=4

4/6 of the pie would be left
In simplest form it would be

4/6     <span> ÷2</span>
=2/3

2/3 is in simplest form

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

We put in 2 for x and 6 for y

\frac{2(6)-2}{2}

\frac{10}{2} = 5

The answer is 5

Hope this helps!
