F(r)=  (π*r^2)/2  +  3r

Basically, when they say find the area as a function, they want you to make an equation so the answer will stay proportional based on what the variable (in this case r) equals. So, in the equation I gave you, if you find the value of r, you have the answer. But, since we do not have the value of r, we must simply create a function based on the data we do have...I hoped this helped you:)

A belt and a pair of pants cost $490 altogether. A bag costs twice as much
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

$196

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets assume,

cost of a belt = 'x'

cost of a pair of pants = 'y'

Now, According to the question;

  1. x + y = 490;
  2. cost of a bag = twice the cost of belt = 2x;
  3. cost of a pair of pants = twice the cost of bag

    ⇒ y = 2×2x ⇔ 4x

hence, by subtituting the values in equation' we get;

⇒ x + 4x = 490

⇒ 5x = 490

⇒ x = 98

So, the difference between the cost of the pair of pants and the bag ;

⇒ y - 2x

⇒ 4x - 2x

⇒ 2x = 2×98 = 196.
