On a town map, each unit of the coordinate plane represents 1 mile. Three branches of a bank are located at A(−3, 1), B(1, 4), a

nd C(5, −2). A bank employee drives from Branch A to Branch B and then drives halfway to Branch C before getting stuck in traffic. What is the minimum total distance the employee may have driven before getting stuck in traffic? Round to the nearest tenth of a mile if necessary. The minimum total distance the employee may have driven before getting stuck in traffic is?

Answer: 8.6 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance between Branch A and Branch B is given by the Pythagoras theorem

AB² = (Vertical Distance)² + (Horizontal Distance)²

AB² = (4-1)² + (1 - -3)²

AB² = 3² + 4²

AB² = 9 + 16

AB² = 25

AB = 5

BC² = (Vertical distance)² + (Horizontal distance)²

BC² = (-2 - 4)² + (5-1)²

BC² = (-6)² + (4)²

BC² = 36 + 16

BC² = 52

BC = 7.21

Half way of BC = 7.21 ÷ 2 = 3.6 miles

Total distance travelled from A to B and then halfway from B to C is 3.6+5 = 8.6 miles

If parallelogram PQRS is dilated by a scale factor of 4 with a center of dilation at the origin, what is the area of parallelogr
victus00 [196]
The scale factor needs to be squared first before multiplying it to the area of parallelogram PQRS to find the area of dilation P'Q'R'S'. So in other words,

Area of P'Q'R'S' = 4² x Area of PQRS = 16 x Area of PQRS

dlinn [17]
So we already know that one of the numbers, the largest, is 7. Now we just need to find the other 3. The other 3 numbers add up to 10. So, we can divide 10 by 2 to get 5. What odd and even numbers equal five? 2 and 3.

Your numbers are 2, 3, 5, and 7.

Line the slope and y-intercept to graph each equation below
Leno4ka [110]

Answer:

<h2>The graphs in the attachments.</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope-intercept form of an equation of a line:

y=mx+b

m - slope

b - y-intercept

We have the equations of the lines in the general form Ax + By + C = 0.

Convert to slope-intercept form:

8.

2x-2y+5=0                <em>subtract 2x and 5 from both sides</em>

-2y=-2x-5              <em>divide both sides by (-2)</em>

y=x+\dfrac{5}{2}

9.

y-3=0            <em>add 3 to both sides</em>

y=3

8.

To draw a line we need only two points. Choice any two x values and calculate the y values.

for\ x=0\to y=0+\dfrac{5}{2}=\dfrac{5}{2}=2.5\to(0,\ 2.5)\\\\for\ x=-2\to y=-2+\dfrac{5}{2}=-2+2.5=0.5\to(-2,\ 0.5)

9.

y=3

It's a horizontal line.
