I'm not great at explaining, but I'll try my best.

I think that the fractions 1/2 1/4 1/5 1/8 and 1/10 are common because if you reduce them (except 1/2) they all come out to 1/2 or 1/4.

A classmate said that line AB and line DC are parallel based on the diagram below. Explain your classmates error.
MatroZZZ [7]

Explanation:

The only information we have to go on is that ∠AWZ ≅ ∠XYC. However, these are not specific kinds of angles that can prove lines parallel. If we had a pair of alternate interior angles, such as ∠AWZ and ∠WZY, we could say that the lines are parallel. However, we do not have enough information.

Suppose sarah is trying to design a metal box (a rectangular prism), which will hold 450 cubic centimeters of liquid. the length
schepotkina [342]
So, the volume of a container can also be thought of as the amount of liquid that the container is capable of holding. It follows that 450=(length)(width)(height). The constraints of the problem say that the length of the box must be twice as large as the width, so it follows that j(height)=(2w)(w)(height)-450. This then implies that j(height)=(2w^2)(height)-450. In simpler terms, the height is defined as 450/(2w^2), or j(w)=450/(2w^2).
