You are basically just adding, so combine like terms.

3x^2 + 5x^2 = 8x^2

6x - 2x = 4x

4 - 8 = -4

So the answer is D.

The expression for (f+g)(x) is simply the sum of the expressions of f(x) and g(x).

So, you have

(f+g)(x) = f(x) + g(x) = (3x^2-2x+4)+(5x^2+6x-8) = 8x^2+4x-4

What is 16/10 as a mixed number simplified if possible ??
ozzi
16/10 as a mixed number would be {1 6/10} or {1 3/5}. First, you figure out how many times the denominator fits into the numerator. So you see how many times ten fits into 16 (the answer would be 1) and that's your whole number. Then, you subtract the denominator from the numerator (16-10) and put our answer (5) as the numerator in the fraction next to the 1 you got in the beginning. Then, all you have to do is simplify.

EXAMPLE:

18/10

4. Given point A (3, 8) and point B (-5, 1). Find the following:
Anni [7]

Answer:

a) (-1,4.5)

b)10.63 units

c)7/8

Step-by-step explanation:

a) To find this, we use the midpoint formula

(x,y) = (x1 + x2)/2 , (y1 + y2)/2

(x1,y1) = (3,8)

(x2,y2) = (-5,1)

(x,y) = (3 -5)/2 , (8 + 1)/2 = (-1, 4.5)

b) To calculate the distance D between two points, we use the formula;

D = √(x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2

D = √(-5-3)^2 + (1-8)^2

D = √(-8)^2 + (-7)^2

D = √64 + 49

D = √113

D = 10.63 units

C) We use the slope formula here

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m = (1-8)/(-5-3) = -7/-8 = 7/8

15 - t + 8t = -13 <br> 4a + 11 - a = 2
Step2247 [10]
15-t + 8t = -13
15 + 7t = -13
7t = -13-15
7t = -28
t = -4

4a + 11-a = 2
3a = 2-11
3a = -9
a = -3

How will you know the nature of the roots of the given quadratic equation?
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer:

The discriminant determines the nature of the roots of a quadratic equation. The word 'nature' refers to the types of numbers the roots can be — namely real, rational, irrational or imaginary. ... If Δ≥0, the expression under the square root is non-negative and therefore roots are real.
