Sally's CDs to Ray's CDs = 2:7
2 + 7 = 9
Ray's Cds to all CDs is 7:9

2x + 7x = 9x

2x + 49 = 9x

-7x = -49

x = 7

Ray has 7x = 49
Sally has 2x = 14

14:49 is the same as 2:7

Ray has 49 CDs. Sally had 14 CDs.
Ray gives 21 CDs to Sally.

Ray: 49 - 21 = 28
Sally: 14 + 21 = 35

Sally's CDs to Ray's CDs = 35:28 = 5:4

Triangle abc is similar to triangle FGH solve for p plebs.
12345 [234]

The value of <em>p </em>is 21

Step-by-step explanation:

ΔABC ~ ΔFGH

\frac{ab}{fg} = \frac{bc}{gh} \\ \frac{35}{p} = \frac{10}{6} \\ p = \frac{35 \times 6}{10} \\ p = \frac{210}{10} \\ p = 21 \\ \\ or \\ \\ \frac{ab}{fg} = \frac{ac}{fh} \\ \frac{35}{p} = \frac{30}{18} \\ p = \frac{35 \times 18}{30} \\ p = \frac{630}{30} \\ p = 21

So, the value of <em>p</em> is 21

Anna made 20/28 free throws in basketball this season. To the nearest thousands, what is her free-throw average?
Afina-wow [57]

Answer:

0.714 free throws.

Step-by-step explanation:

Anna made 20 out of 28 free throws.

Free-throw average = \frac{20}{28}  = 0.7142857143 free throws.

This equals 0.714 free throws (answer rounded up to the nearest thousandths)

Jaina and Tomas compare their compound interest accounts to see how much they will have in the accounts after three years. They
MariettaO [177]

The question is incomplete. The complete question is :

Jaina and Tomas compare their compound interest accounts to see how much they will have in the accounts after three years. They substitute their values shown below into the compound interest formula. Compound Interest Accounts Name Principal Interest Rate Number of Years Compounded Jaina $300 7% 3 Once a year Tomas $400 4% 3 Once a year. Which pair of equations would correctly calculate their compound interests?

Solution :

It is given that Jaina and Tomas wants to open an account by depositing a principal amount for a period of 3 years and wanted to calculate the amount they will have using the compound interest formula.

<u>So for Jiana</u> :

Principal, P = $300

Rate of interest, r = 7%

Time, t = 3

Compounded yearly

Therefore, using compound interest formula, we get

$A=P\left(1+\frac{r}{100}\right)^{t}$

   $=300\left(1+\frac{7}{100}\right)^{3}$

   $=300(1+0.07)^3$

<u>Now for Tomas </u>:

Principal, P = $400

Rate of interest, r = 4%

Time, t = 3

Compounded yearly

Therefore, using compound interest formula, we get

$A=P\left(1+\frac{r}{100}\right)^{t}$

   $=400\left(1+\frac{4}{100}\right)^{3}$

   $=400(1+0.04)^3$

Therefore, the pair of equations that would correctly calculate the compound interests for Jaina is $A=300(1+0.07)^3$ .

And the pair of equations that would correctly calculate the compound interests for Tomas is $A=400(1+0.04)^3$ .
