The essay by Henry David Thoreau in which he makes more elaborate use of metaphor is "Walden, or, Life in the Woods" (1854).

In this essay, Thoreau uses more elaborate metaphor to convey the ideas of nonindividuality and to show how the human mind is easily influenced as the Earth's soil is marked by the steps of others.

The way in which he describes and metaphorizes nature and human existance in the space of Walden Pond contributes to adapt complex and abstract ideas of humanistic guidance into understandable language.

What does Williams suggest about life in the country in the second stanza?
ololo11 [35]

Answer:

Williams introduces the idea that the relationship between humans and nature is not ideal and suggests that Williams is further developing Raleigh's critique of Marlowe's depiction of country life.

Explanation:

By ending the second stanza with the phrase “if ever this were true” (Williams, line 16), Williams suggests that the “loveliness” that poets such as Marlowe described was not only “long ago” (Williams, lines 11, 12), but also imaginary and may never have existed.

Remember the first time we met
You was at the mall wit yo friend
I was scared to approach ya
But then you came closer
Hopin' you would give me a chance
Who would have ever knew
That we would ever be more than friends
We're real worldwide, breakin' all the rules
She like a song played again and again
That girl, like something off a poster
That girl, is a dime they say
That girl, is a gun to my holster
She's running through my mind all day, ay

Not once did you leave my mind
We talk on the phone, from night 'til the morn'
Girl, you really changed my life
Doin' things I never do
I'm in the kitchen cookin' things she likes
We're real worldwide, breakin' all the rules
Someday I wanna make you my wife
That girl, like something off a poster
That girl, is a dime they say (Hey)
That girl, is a gun to my holster
She's running through my mind all day, ay
