Answer:

Breakdown of the glucose give create energy in form of ATP.

Explanation:

  • The process of breakdown of glucose is called glycolysis.
  • In glycolysis glucose is treated with various enzymes and different intermediates are formed such as ATP(adenosine triphosphate) and NADH. This NADH is used to produce ATP in further aerobic metabolism.
  • Glycolysis can be done through aerobic respiration or anaerobic respiration. In aerobic respiration, oxygen is consumed. The mitochondria uses the oxygen to break glucose into energy in form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is then used to store or release the energy created, depending on the cell's needs.  In Anaerobic respiration glucose is partially broken down without involving oxygen is not involved.

Result: Breakdown of glucose provide energy.
