How will an increase in the percentage of older Americans affect the healthcare field? There will be far fewer qualified workers

to fill positions in the healthcare field. Salaries will drop in the healthcare field so that businesses can control costs. The healthcare field will create new jobs because more people will need care. Fewer people will need health care, so there will be a drop in healthcare jobs.

With the population aging, thus having more and more elderly people in the population, the healthcare system will flourish. The reason for this is that the elderly people in general need more care than the younger people, as their immune system is weaker and they have more diseases. The increased number of patients will result in opening many more new jobs in the healthcare field. The problem usually is that there is not enough qualified workforce to satisfy the rapidly growing demand, so there will have to be immigration of people from abroad that are qualified in this field to satisfy the demand.
