Which line in these excerpts from the play Everyman implies that the common people of the time were leading a life dedicated to

material gain and pleasure-seeking activities? Of ghostly sight the people be so blind, Drowned in sin, they know me not for their God. In worldly riches is all their mind: They fear not my righteousness, the sharp rod; … Out of God's laws, and dreadeth not folly. He that loveth riches I will strike with my dart, His sight to blind, and from heaven to depart, Except that Almsdeeds be his good friend, … For before God thou shalt answer and show Thy many bad deeds and good but a few-- How thou hast spent thy life and in what wise,

The line in these excerpts from the morality play “Everyman” implies that the common people of the time were leading a life dedicated to material gain and pleasure-seeking activities is the first one: “Of ghostly sight the people be so blind, Drowned in sin, they know me not for their God”. In this line, God implies that people occupy their minds with material goods by saying that they are blind, drowned in sin and lost their way to Him.

The sentence which shows that the common people of the time were leading a life dedicated to material gain and pleasure seeking activities is this: 'Of ghostly sight the people be so blind, drowned in sin, they know me not for their God, in world riches is all their mind, they fear not my righteousness, the sharp rod ......
This sentence is saying that, the people are blind spiritually, they refused to acknowledge God and his ways, they prefers to indulge in their own sins and worldly pleasures. The first thing on their priority list is achieving worldly wealth, none of their behavior reflect Godly fear.<span />
