The Otranto disaster took place in the Irish Sea during a strong storm close to the Isle of Islay, 25 miles north of the Northern Irish coast. The disaster took place when another ship, the Kashmir, rammed into the Otranto, provoking the disaster in which 470 people were killed. This happenned in 1918, during the I world War.
