Prohibition led to the rapid rise of speakeasies (sometimes called blind pigs or bling tigers). Speakeasies owned by gangsters replaced neighborhood bars. They promoted heavy drinking, gambling and prostitution. ... That was double the number of saloons and illegal joints in the pre-Prohibition era.

Some of the problems included that the ban on alcohol increased the value of alcohol, attracting mobs and other criminals to start producing, smuggling and selling it. Another would be the fact that people started making moonshine, and poisoning themselves with it, because they didn't know how to properly make the substance.

Luda [366]

A)

 • Do you believe that raising taxes is a fair way of financing public projects? Yes/No
 • Do you believe that a new General Motors facility would bring benefits to the state? Yes/No
 • How much do you agree with the idea of implementing a new tax in order to finance this facility? Totally agree/Agree/Somewhat agree/Somewhat Disagree/Disagree/Totally Disagree

I would ask these questions because they address the elements that I find important. They would allow me to examine the respondents' view of taxes, General Motors, and the use of taxes to finance private companies.

B)

I would distribute this survey to the working people of Michigan, as they are the ones most likely to care about changes in taxation. I would try to distribute this survey to 1% of the population of the state. This is because such a number of people would give me enough results to obtain results that are statistically significant. However, it is still a small enough number, so I can manage the data easily.

C)

I would first look at an example of an opinion survey conducted in the state of Michigan. I would also look at a survey that discusses the subject of raising state taxes. Finally, I would look at an academic source that explains how to create effective survey questions.

Over [174]

The impact that this edict would have on the people at the time is that it would give them the right to the freedom of worship or religion at the time.

The reason why the edict was signed

The edict was signed by Constantine to show the people living there that the government of the day was tolerant and they were indifferent about the religions that people chose to have in the area.

The way that this can be compared to the United States constitution is that the constitution establishes that the people have a right to their own religion and that the government has no right to enforce or make laws that would enforce or prohibit religion in the nation.
