Meiosis is what happens after sexual intercourse, but it only occurs if two people have vaginal sex. Once the male has ejaculated, his sperm will travel through the female's reproductive system. Not many sperm cells will make it to try to get to a female's egg. But, only one sperm cell can make it inside a egg. Then pregnancy will begin.

Which of these represents the female gametophyte generation of an angiosperm? A. an embryo sacB. an ovule C. an ovary
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:

A. an embryo sac

Explanation:

Angiosperms or flowering plants produce their gametes through the meiosis.

In the ovule (contains female reproductive cells) a diploid cell (megaspore )undergoes meiosisin which four cells (megaspores) with haploid nuclei are produced. One of these four megaspores then undergoes three successive mitotic divisions to produce an immature embryo sac which is the megagametophyte with 8 haploid nuclei (3 antipodal cells, 2 synergid cells, 1 egg cell and 2 polar nuclei).
