Yeasts fermentatewhich is a metabolic process that consumes glucose in the absence of oxygen.

This results in the production of ethanol and carbon dioxide which<span> can be used in food processing. The ethanol is used to make alcoholic beverages andd carbon dioxide it's what makes bread rise  (those bubbles/holes in the bread were space ocupied by CO2) </span>
