This error, displayed mostly in 8-months-old to 12-months-old infants, was studied by the psychologist Jean Piaget, he explained that the error happens when the child is not able to locate the object in the second location and is still trying to find it in the first location, exactly what happened with Ramy in the task described. The lack of ability to find the object in the location B (in this case the second blanket) is due to the child's <em>lack of object permanence</em>, it means his capacity to percieve the toy even when it is hidden. However, other researchers have suggested  that this error can be caused by  limitations in the short-term memory or the tendency to repeat motor behaviors.
