Today in the United States the poverty rate of the elderly is ______.
tester [92]

The correct answer is B. Increasing

Explanation:

In sociology, poverty occurs when an individual or a group of people are unable to pay for basic elements such as food, clothes, and housing and therefore basics need are not fulfilled or at least not completely satisfied. Poverty rates vary according to the country or zone, but also according to different groups in society. In the case of elderly, this is a group in society that is at risk of experiencing poverty due to lack of job opportunities, lack of saving and health issues that stop them from working. Because of this, it is estimated in the U.S. a decade ago around 9% of elderly people living in poverty and unfortunately, in the last years, this percentage has increased to around 15% mainly due to the economic recession the U.S. experienced during the 21st century along with programs and laws that have increased taxes. Therefore, today the poverty rate of the elderly in the United States is mainly increasing.

What is your personal definition of learning? How do your ideas about learning compare with the definition of learning presented
algol [13]

Answer:

The answer to this question, and especially the text that your question aludes to, can be found on the lumenlearning website, and it says this: that all beings have a three-step process of learning that explains how an organism develops the capacities to behave and act accordingly, depending on the conditions around it. These three steps are: classical conditioning (Pavlovian conditioning), operant conditioning, and finally, observation. All organisms go through these steps to learn how to behave and act in an environment.

Classical conditioning is simply the way that an organism is taught how to respond by association. As an organism experiences its environment, it observes different events and learns how to associate cause and consequence, or responses, to stimuli. During operant conditioning, an organism also associates and also learns that producing a behavior brings either reward, or punishment, and observation is how an organism learns to act through observation and imitation of others.

To me, learning is a much more complex process, in which, all the experiences taken in by an organism, the environment, and also genetics, play all a role together in the way this organism processes all and acquires knowledge and produces responses to that knowledge. But I agree with these theories that all organisms go through steps. You see it with babies. They first learn to act through what they observe, but as intelligent and sapient beings, they too can learn to produce behavior outside of what was observed, or conditioned in them. So, in animals and other beings the three steps mentioned above might work, but not necessarily in humans.

LuckyWell [14K]

Traditional cyberspace operational task is to permanently, completely, and irreparably deny access to, or operation of, a targeted function for the foreseeable scope of the conflict.

Cyberspace, according to the Department of Defense, is the fictitious space in which digital information is transmitted over computer networks. The DOD's regular business operations in and through cyberspace are made up of its military, intelligence, and intelligence-related activities. Military operations in cyberspace employ cyberspace capabilities to produce effects that aid operations in both the physical and cyberspace domains. In order to carry out national security duties, cyberspace operations are carried out under the jurisdiction of the judicial branch. Traditional threats typically come from states using well-known military tactics and recognized military forces. Non-intelligence activities make up cyberspace OPE and serve as the foundation for subsequent operations.
