Answer:

the chromosome number would double with every generation.

Explanation:

The formation of haploid gametes occurs through a process of cell division called meiosis, which occurs in two consecutive stages called meiosis I and meiosis II.

Meiosis I is also called the reductive phase (R!), Because a diploid cell (2n) will give rise to two haploid cells (n).

In meiosis II, the two haploid cells (n) formed during the first stage (meiosis I) continue the division, giving rise, each one, to two more haploid cells (n) which will, at the end of the 2 stages, a total of four haploid cells (n). Meiosis II is called equational division (E!), Because dividing cells form daughter cells with the same number of chromosomes.

In short, if meiosis did not occur during gamete formation, there would be no reduction in chromosomes, the result of which would be that the number of chromosomes would double with each generation.

What is the significance of an eyespot in the cell of euglena
Hunter-Best [27]

The significance of the eye spot of the Euglena cells is a light receptor.

The light receptor allows the light to enter and orient the cell to move towards the light or to move away. The eye spot is also known as the stigma.

What will the likely effect be if the bulbourethral gland in males fails to perform its function?
alina1380 [7]

The sperm will be immature and sperm count will be lower if the bulbourethral gland in males fails to perform its function

The bulbourethral gland or Cowper's gland, which is homologous to the Bartholin's gland in females, produces pre-ejaculate that cleanses and lubricates the urethra prior to the arrival of the semen.

The Cowper's glands or bulbourethral glands produce the first fluid that leaves the urethra in order to neutralize the acid left from the urine. The sperm like a basic or alkaline environment in order to survive. If the function of the Cowper's glands or bulbourethral glands fails to perform its function then the sperm will not get a proper medium to travel and will get diminished in the urethra and the sperm count will get reduced.

Sound waves can be described as all of these except
Fittoniya [83]

Answer: The correct answer is B. Compression Waves

Explanation:

Mechanical longitudinal waves are also called compressional or compression waves, because they produce compression and rarefaction when traveling through a medium, and pressure waves, because they produce increases and decreases in pressure. Therefor, Compression Waves is the correct answer.
