Answer:

1. David Kara wrote this article to highlight the love, care, attention, and dedicated efforts that go into caring for animals at Popcorn zoo.

2. John Bergmann was portrayed as a person who was very passionate and dedicated to his work at the zoo.

Explanation:

In the article written by David Karas on October 25, 2012, he gave details of what efforts were required to run the zoo. The zoo was run by passionate individuals one of whom was John Bergmann who was the manager of the zoo. Bergmann was portrayed by Karas as one who loved his job and dedicated his time and efforts to it. He said that he had to work 24/7 at times to care for these animals, taking them home with him at times when they needed a little extra attention. His feelings are summarized in this statement from the article,

"A lot of times you work seven days a week, and you don't even know it," he says. "You are doing what you love. You enjoy helping the animals out."

Bergmann also hoped that people who visited the zoo would become more loving towards animals.

He makes a concession about imperialism, showing both sides of the argument.

He uses an appeal to emotion with words like honor and sacrifice to stir nationalism.

He cites evidence of winning the recent war to show that people still sacrifice for the empire.

Explanation:

Joseph Chamberlain presents his argument with emotions, evidence and logic. He presents the picture of both sides of the argument and builds a thinking among the audience about imperialism. He also tries to bring emotion and encourage the sense of nationalism among the audience. The use of certain words helps him to make his argument more appealing to the audience. He also had provided the example of sacrifice from the people's end that had brought good results in the past. By doing so he presents his argument with more zeal and appeal.
