Answer:

Portolan maps will probably not be used in a geography class because of the following reasons.

It is was a map that was used to navigate through a small area of land, the map was used on a small scale.

Secondly the portolan maps did not include the fact that the earth is spherical.

Also portolan maps where characterized by lack of map projections.

The vagaries of wind, sea and imperfect records threw off the measurements, so that upon completing a journey with the map, you wouldn’t land exactly on your starting spot.

I think you mean "portolan'' map. These are historical maps of coastlines, showing all the ports. They were used by early sea- going traders to move from port. But they weren't accurate in their depiction of the shape of the coasts and didn't show anything inland, so they wouldn't be much use to a geography class

Andru [333]
Based on the excerpt, Emmeline Pankhurst is discussing how it is essential for women to gain the right to vote in order to improve their lives. Pankhurst makes the argument that legislation (aka laws) are what help to improve society. Since women could not vote as of this time, they had no ability to affect what laws were passed in society. This is why Pankhurst says that women should have the right to vote. If they truly want to change the world around them they must be able express their views and opinions.
