A reservoir refers to a natural or man-made lake, pond or pool, which is utilized as a supply of water. It is generally produced using a lock or dam, like in river valleys a dam is used. It comprises a section of the biosphere, which fills in as a long haul zone of stockpiling for supplements or water. A reservoir can be formed by manipulating the flow of water from a prevailing water body.
