Answer:

Center: (-2,3)

Radius = 3.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given an equation x^2+4x+y^2-6y=-4. We are asked to find the center and radius of the circle.

To find the center and radius of the circle, we need to convert our given equation in standard form of circle (x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2, where, (h,k) is center of circle and r represents radius of circle.

To complete the square, we need to add (\frac{b}{2})^2 to both sides of our given equation.

(\frac{4}{2})^2=2^2=4

(\frac{6}{2})^2=3^2=9

x^2+4x+4+y^2-6y+9=-4+4+9

x^2+4x+4+y^2-6y+9=9

(x+2)^2+(y-3)^2=3^2

(x-(-2))^2+(y-3)^2=3^2

Therefore, the point (-2,3) is the center of circle and radius of circle is 3 units.

(x²+4x+4)-4+(y²-6y+9)-9=-4 (x+2)²+(y-3)²=9 (x+2)²+(y-3)²=3²<span>
Circles follow the form: (x-a)+(y-b)=r</span><span>²
</span><span>Therefore the center of the circle is at (-2,3)
and the radius is 3.</span>

Y = mx + b

Where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept

As you can already see it passes through the origin so b (the y-intercept) is (x, 0)

And the slope were it’s rise/run so it goes up 2.5 units and to the right 1 unit so it’s 2.5/1 = 2.5

m = 2.5

5. Find the value of x to the nearest tenth. Volume of the prism<br> is 576 cm?<br> Volume: 576 cm3
Snezhnost [94]

the volume of the triangular prism will be, the area of the triangular face times its length

\stackrel{\textit{area of the triangle}}{\left[ \cfrac{1}{2}(\underset{b}{8})(\underset{h}{8}) \right]}~~ ~~\stackrel{length}{(x)}~~ = ~~\stackrel{volume}{576}\implies 32(x)=576 \\\\\\ 32x=576\implies x=\cfrac{576}{32}\implies x=18

Which function increases the fastest?
Lapatulllka [165]
Considering we are looking for an increasing function, all negative xs are incorrect, which only leaves A and C left

Because C is a logarithmic function this means it will increase exponentially faster than a standard function like A

So the answer is C

You need to buy some chicken for dinner tonight. You found an ad showing that the store across town has it on sale for $2.89 a p
ASHA 777 [7]

Answer:

   1. Going to the close store is cheaper.

Step-by-step explanation:

The difference in the prices of chicken is 3.19 -2.89 = 0.30 per pound, so for 5 pounds of chicken, the far store offers a price that totals 5×$0.30 = $1.50 less.

The difference in travel distances is 8.4 -2.4 = 6 miles, so the total round-trip distance difference is 12 miles. The cost of gas is ...

  ($3.81 /gal)/(23 mi/gal) = $0.1656 /mi

so the cost of gas for the 12-mile longer trip would be

  12×$0.1656 ≈ $1.99

Traveling to the far store, you would spend $1.99 more on gas to save $1.50 on the price of chicken. Going to the close store is cheaper.
