Which graph represents the solution set for the quadratic inequality x2 + 2x + 1 > 0
AnnyKZ [126]

we have

x^{2}+2x + 1 > 0

we know that

x^{2}+2x+1=(x+1)^{2}

so

(x+1)^{2}> 0

two solutions

first solution

(x+1)> 0

x > -1

the first solution is the interval---------> (-1,∞)

second solution

-(x+1)> 0

-x-1> 0

-x> 1

x< -1

the second solution is the interval---------> (-∞,-1)

therefore

the solution is all real numbers except the number -1

In the rectangle below, the two quarter circles are congruent. Find the area of the shaded of the shaded region.
Delicious77 [7]
Rectangle:
length = 12
width = 6
area of rectangle = length times width = 12 x 6 = 72

area of circle = pi r^2 = 3.14 (6)^2 = 113.1
1/2 circle = 113.1 / 2 = 56.55

the area of the shaded of the shaded region = 72 - 56.55 = 15.45

Kamila buys a dress for £30 in a sale. It was advertised "25%off". Kamila says"25% of £30 is £7.50 so i saved £7.50". Explain wh
sveta [45]

Answer:

She was wrong in her analysis because the sales discount of 25% is the discount on the original cost of the dress and not the purchasing cost of the dress as explained below:

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question:

Purchasing cost price of the dress = £30

However, this cost (£30) was after a 25% Sales Discount

It, therefore, implies that £30 is equal to 75% of the cost price

75% of the original cost price = £30

100% of the original cost price = (30 x100%)/75%

   Original cost price                 = £40

Therefore the 25% discount / savings on the cost

                                                     = £ (40-30)

                                                      = £10

She saved £10 by buying the dress at £30 instead of the original cost of £40
