Answer:

refusing to agree with the proposal of Henry Cabot Lodge on 'reservations'.

Explanation:

The League of Nations was an international peacekeeping organization that was set after the World War 1 to maintain peace worldwide. Woodrow Wilson was an advocate of this League but could not sign the League because of the firm opposition from the Congress. The League of Nations was set to hopefully prevent another war but failed to stop World War 2 from happening.

Henry Cabot Lodge, who was the Senator of the United States, proposed fourteen reservations before entering into the League of Nations. These reservations were denied by Woodrow Wilson, the President of the United States.

The statement mentioned above by Woodrow Wilson was stated when he refused to accept the Lodge's reservations over his ratification of the Treaty of Versailles.

I need three quotes that show Macbeth is talking to banquo?
strojnjashka [21]

The quotes are the following:

1. Act 1, Scene 1

After their encounter with the three witches, best friends Macbeth and Banquo talk about their future as told by the witches: Macbeth will be king and Banquo's descendants will be kings as well.

MACBETH

Your children shall be kings.

BANQUO

You shall be king.

MACBETH

And thane of Cawdor too: went it not so?

BANQUO

To the selfsame tune and words.

2. Act 2, Scene 1

Before murdering Duncan, Macbeth meets Banquo, who tells him he dreamt about the three witches and suggests they have told Macbeth some truth. Macbeth lies and replies he has not thought about them, but as soon as he is alone he heads to the king's chamber.

BANQUO

All's well.

I dreamt last night of the three weird sisters:

To you they have show'd some truth.

MACBETH

I think not of them:

Yet, when we can entreat an hour to serve,

We would spend it in some words upon that business,

If you would grant the time.

BANQUO

At your kind'st leisure.

3. Act 3, Scene 1

Macbeth invites Banquo to a fancy banquet as his guest of honor. Although Banquo has duties with his son in the afternoon, he promises to attend the feast. With this information, Macbeth then plans to kill both. The reason is, after the witches' prediction, Banquo's noble and honest character and his son Fleance are a threat to the throne.

MACBETH

To-night we hold a solemn supper sir,

And I'll request your presence.

BANQUO

Let your highness

Command upon me; to the which my duties

Are with a most indissoluble tie

For ever knit.

MACBETH

Ride you this afternoon?

BANQUO

Ay, my good lord.

MACBETH

We should have else desired your good advice,

Which still hath been both grave and prosperous,

In this day's council; but we'll take to-morrow.

Is't far you ride?

BANQUO

As far, my lord, as will fill up the time

'Twixt this and supper: go not my horse the better,

I must become a borrower of the night

For a dark hour or twain.

MACBETH

Fail not our feast.

BANQUO

My lord, I will not.

MACBETH

We hear, our bloody cousins are bestow'd

In England and in Ireland, not confessing

Their cruel parricide, filling their hearers

With strange invention: but of that to-morrow,

When therewithal we shall have cause of state

Craving us jointly. Hie you to horse: adieu,

Till you return at night. Goes Fleance with you?

BANQUO

Ay, my good lord: our time does call upon 's.

MACBETH

I wish your horses swift and sure of foot;

And so I do commend you to their backs. Farewell.
