The most accurate answer is, the demand for cotton cloth grew, the cottage industry developed, machines replaced cottage industry, and early shed factories developed.

Prior to the industrialization of textile manufacturing almost all production took place in the cottage system used by individuals on a small, but abundant scale. Following the development of spinning tools and technologies from the Industrial Revolution textile manufacturing became a more efficient process and as a result, early shed factories developed. These small-scale factories would account for large portions of the textile industry leading into and during the Industrial Revolution.

pentagon [3]
<span>Let’s start with the Cardinal first. Richelieu was a talented statesman and politician, and as Chief Minister of the king (Louis XIII at that time) he consolidated royal power at the expense of the nobles, and made France a strong centralized state. The King Louis XIV, basically, followed the Cardinal’s footsteps and went further by housing most of them in the Versailles Palace.
