The idiographic approach is based on intra-subject comparisons. This approach assumes that comparisons, coherences and counterpositions of the patient's own information (intra-subject), considering the multiplicity of information media, constitute a fundamental aspect of the patient's assessment. Through the concept of the idiographic approach, a mental health professional can learn about each patient's behavior and emotional state and thus establish the best treatment to improve the problems that patient is facing.
