Answer:

His car's speed rate to the nearest thousandth of an hour is 100.489

Step-by-step explanation:

First: This is the only step, round the speed rate to the nearest thousandth:

When rounding always look at the place value they're telling you to round to and the place value to the right of it. Since, the question wants us to round to the nearest thousandth, look at the thousandths place but more specifically the place value to its right. The thousandths is the third digit behind the decimal point and the one to its right would be the fourth.

100.4893

So, if the number to the thousandths' right is less than 5 turn that number into a zero and keep the rest of the number the same. If the number is greater than or equal to 5 round up by making the number in the thousandths place a digit bigger.

Since 3 is smaller than 5, we'll turn the 3 into a zero and keep the rest the same.

100.4890

Since the zero is behind the decimal point and it is the number farthest to the left we can take it out.

100.489

Identify all sets to which the number 3.1214122144 . . . belongs. Choose from irrational, rational, whole, and integer
CaHeK987 [17]
It is an irrational number. That is because rational numbers can be put into fractions. But because this decimal goes on forever, you can't put it into a fraction. This is also not a whole number or an integer. Whole numbers and integers do not have any decimals or fractions in them, but this number is a decimal. Therefore, this number is irrational.
hope this helps:)

At what points does the curve r(t) = ti (6t − t2)k intersect the paraboloid z = x2 y2? (if an answer does not exist, enter dne.)
Usimov [2.4K]
\mathbf r(t)=t\mathbf i+(6t-t^2)\,\mathbf k=x(t)\mathbf i+y(t)\mathbf j+z(t)\mathbf k

\implies z=x^2y^2\iff 6t-t^2=t\times0=0\impiles t(6-t)=0\implies t=0,6

At t=0, you have \mathbf r(0)=0\mathbf i+0\mathbf j+0\mathbf k.

At t=6, you have \mathbf r(6)=6\mathbf i+0\mathbf j+0\mathbf k.
