Answer:

Not proportional

Step-by-step explanation:

Shontell spends $7 a month plus $0.10 per minute.

Let Shontell uses x number of minutes and total $y

Fixed amount = $7

Variable amount = $0.10 per minutes

In 1 minutes spends = 0.10

In x minutes = 0.10x

Total spends in a month, y = 7 + 0.10x

This is linear function not proportional equation.

Proportional equation, y=kx equation must passes through origin.

So, This is not situation of proportional equation. This is linear equation.

Now graph on coordinate plane

  • x-axis represents number of minutes uses in a month.
  • y-axis represents total cost spends in a month

Please find attachment for graph.

Find the area of the shaded segment. Round your answer to the nearest tenth. Please include units in your answer.
RSB [31]

Answer: 56

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's organise our information :

  • the radius of the circle is r=14 cm
  • we can get the area of the shaded by substracting the area of that triangle from that quarter

The area of the cercle's quarter area is :

  • A= 14²×π*(1/4) = 49π cm²

The area of the triangle is :

  • A=14²*(1/2)=98

NOw the area of the shaded segment :

  • A=49π-98= 55.98 ≈ 56
