Primary prevention of disease is the first step taken to protect one's self from diseases. They are basically things you do when you are still healthy to counter future health issues. Most common examples of primary prevention are exercising, immunization and educational programs about one's health.
There are two other prevention methods which are secondary and tertiary. They involve the early stage and advanced stage of illness respectively.
