Answer:

8/11.

Step-by-step explanation:

There are a total of 11 balls.

At least one of those picked is green means that 1 or 2 green balls are picked in the two trials.

Prob (First one picked is green)  = 5/11.

Prob( second one picked is green) = 4/10 = 2/5.

Therefore Prob ( Green then green) = 5/11 * 2/5 = 10/55 = 2/11.

The other possibilities  are Green then Yellow OR Yellow then Green.

The probabilities of these are worked out as above and come to

5/11 * 6/10 and 6/11 * 5/10

=  300/110 and  30/110

= 3/11 and 3/11.

Finally the Prob ( 2G OR G&Y OR Y&G) =  2/11 + 3/11 + 3/11

= 8/11.

I just realised there is an easier way to do this. Much less work.

The only other thing that can happen other than ' at least one green' is '2 yellows' so the required probability is

1 - prob(2 yellows)

= 1 - (6/11 * 5/10)

= 1 - 30 /110)

= 1 - 3/11

= 8/11.

But never mind. I hope the above is instructive  and helps you understand.

Which of the following is not a example of a molecule<br><br> A H2s<br> B Mn<br> C KOH<br> D O3
crimeas [40]
The correct answer is D.
molecules refer to the smallest particle in a compound or an element, which possesses the chemical properties of that compound or element. They  are also made up of atoms which are held together by chemical bonds as result of exchange or sharing of electrons.
The Formula given in option D is an atom not a molecule because it is not sharing any bond with any other atom.

The following data points are last week's revenues (in thousands of dollars) for the
kramer

Answer:

3.14 thousand dollars

Step-by-step explanation:

Standard deviation is the average distance of your data values from the mean (basically, how far off you were from the center). We calculate standard deviation or σ by taking each value, subtracting it from the mean, squaring it, then dividing by the mean.

First, we need to find the mean, which is the sum of all values / number of values.

5 + 6 + 5 + 10 + 9 = 35 / 5 = 7

Take the absolute value of the difference of each value from 7:

5 - 7 = 2

6 - 7 = 1

5 - 7 = 2

10 - 7 = 3

9 - 7 = 2

Square each of these values and add them together:

2^2 + 1^2 + 2^2 + 3^2 + 2^2 = 22

Divide the sum by the mean:

22 / 7 = 3.14

<u>The standard deviation is 3.14 thousand dollars.</u>

In 16% of all homes with a stay-at-home parent, the father is the stay-at-home parent (Pew Research, June 5, 2014). An independe
enot [183]

Answer:

a)

n = (\frac{z\sqrt{0.16*0.84}}{0.03})^2, in which z is related to the confidence level.

b) A sample size of 991 is needed.

Step-by-step explanation:

In a sample with a number n of people surveyed with a probability of a success of \pi, and a confidence level of 1-\alpha, we have the following confidence interval of proportions.

\pi \pm z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}}

In which

z is the zscore that has a pvalue of 1 - \frac{\alpha}{2}.

The margin of error is:

M = z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}}

In 16% of all homes with a stay-at-home parent, the father is the stay-at-home parent

This means that \pi = 0.16

a. What sample size is needed if the research firm's goal is to estimate the current proportion of homes with a stay-at-home parent in which the father is the stay-at-home parent with a margin of error of 0.03 (round up to the next whole number).

This is n for which M = 0.03. So

M = z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}}

0.03 = z\sqrt{\frac{0.16*0.84}{n}}

0.03\sqrt{n} = z\sqrt{0.16*0.84}

\sqrt{n} = \frac{z\sqrt{0.16*0.84}}{0.03}

(\sqrt{n})^2 = (\frac{z\sqrt{0.16*0.84}}{0.03})^2

n = (\frac{z\sqrt{0.16*0.84}}{0.03})^2, in which z is related to the confidence level.

Question b:

99% confidence level,

So \alpha = 0.01, z is the value of Z that has a pvalue of 1 - \frac{0.01}{2} = 0.995, so Z = 2.575.

n = (\frac{z\sqrt{0.16*0.84}}{0.03})^2

n = (\frac{2.575\sqrt{0.16*0.84}}{0.03})^2

n = 990.2

Rounding up

A sample size of 991 is needed.

x=√25=5
(5√2)²+(5√2)²=100
y=√100=10
