Answer:

The answer to your question is  adult = $12, children = $10

Step-by-step explanation:

Data

Family 1                                          Family 2

2 adult + 4 children = $64            1 adult + 3 children = $42

adult cost = a = ?

children cost = c = ?

Process

1.- Write two equations to solve this problem

    2a + 4c = 64               Equation l

       a  + 3c = 42               Equation ll

2.- Solve the system of equation by elimination

-Multiply equation ll by -2

    2a + 4c = 64

  -2a  -  6c = -84

     0   - 2c = -20

               c = -20/-2

               c = 10

3.- Substitute c in equation ll to find a

       a + 3(10) = 42

       a + 30 = 42

       a = 42 - 30

       a = 12

4.- Conclusion

the cost for adult is $12 and the cost for adults is $10

Karim began his day by drinking 1 cups of milk at breakfast. By the end of the day, he drank a total of 2
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

Equation:

21 = 1 + m

Solution:

20 = m

Step-by-step explanation:

What we know:

  • Karim drank 1 cup of milk at breakfast
  • Karim drank a total of 21 cups of milk
  • m = the amount of milk, in cups, Karim drank after breakfast

We know that Karim drank 21 cups of milk in a day. In an equation, that would look like this:

21 =

What does 21 equal?

The amount of milk Karim drank at breakfast plus the amount of milk Karim drank after breakfast.

21 = milk at breakfast + milk after breakfast

Let's substitute what we know into this equation:

21 = milk at breakfast + milk after breakfast

21 = 1 + m

Now that we have our equation, let's solve.

21 = 1 + m

-1    -1

20 = m

Therefore, Karim drank 20 cups of milk after breakfast.

Honda Atlas issued 100,000 shares of stock. In 1990, each share of stock was worth Rs. 152.50. In 1993, each share of the stock
noname [10]

Answer:

Rs.13,130 ,000

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets solve first for year 1990

Value of stock in 1990 = Rs. 152.50

No. of stocks issued in 1990 = 100,000

Total value of these stocks in 1990= Value of stock in 1990* no of stocks issued in 1990  = 152.50*100,000 = Rs. 15,250,000

Let solve first for year 1993

Value of stock in 1993 = Rs. 21.20

No. of stocks   1993 = 100,000

Total value of these stocks in 1993 = Value of stock in 1993* no of stocks issued in 1993  = 21.20*100,000 = Rs. 2,120,000

Decrease in value of stock in 1993 in comparison to 1990 = Total value of the stocks in 1990 -Total value of the stocks in 1993

 =  Rs. 15,250,000 - Rs. 2,120,000

 = Rs.13,130 ,000

Thus, the 100,000 shares worth Rs.13,130 ,000 lesser in 1993 than in 1990.
