The 3 angles in a triangle need to equal 180 degrees.
 the square in the top right means it is a right triangle and that angle = 90 degrees.
 The other 2 angles then need to equal 180-90 = 90 degrees.

Now we have n + (n+40) = 90
 Remove the parenthesis and add the 2 n's

2n + 40 = 90

Subtract 40 from each side:

2n = 50

Divide both sides by 2:

n = 50/2 = 25 degrees

Consider a circle whose equation is x2 + y2 – 2x – 8 = 0. Which statements are true? Select three options. The radius of the cir
FromTheMoon [43]

The statements which are correct about the equation of circle x^{2} +y^{2}-2x-8=0 are 1) The radius of the circle is 3 units,2) The center of the circle lies on the x axis,5) The radius of this circle is the same the radius of the circle whose equation is x^{2} +y^{2} =9.

Given the equation of circle be x^{2} +y^{2}-2x-8=0.

We are required to find the appropriate statements related to the equation x^{2} +y^{2}-2x-8=0.

x^{2} +y^{2}-2x-8=0 can be written as under:

x^{2} +y^{2} -2x+1-9=0

x^{2} +1^{2}-2x+y^{2} -9=0

(x-1)^{2}+y^{2}-9=0

(x-1)^{2} +y^{2} =9

(x-1)^{2}+y^{2}  =3^{2}

Equation of a circle usually in the form x^{2} +y^{2} =a^{2} in which a is radius.

From the comparison of both the equations we get that radius is 3 units.

From the equation point will be (1,0). It is on the x axis.

Hence the statements which are correct about the equation of circle x^{2} +y^{2}-2x-8=0 are 1) The radius of the circle is 3 units,2) The center of the circle lies on the x axis,5) The radius of this circle is the same the radius of the circle whose equation is x^{2} +y^{2} =9.

Find the values of the variables in the parallelogram. The diagram is not to scale.
Anna [14]

Answer:

  • Option C

Step-by-step explanation:

  • x = 36° as alternate interior angles are congruent
  • z = 110° as opposite angles of parallelogram are congruent
  • x + y + 110° = 180° as adjacent angles of parallelogram are supplementary
  • y = 180° - 110° - 36° =  34°

Correct choice is C

Solve the equation −2w+4=−12. URGENT Solution
VMariaS [17]

Answer:

The solution is w=8

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

-2w+4=-12

Solve for w

That means -----> isolate the variable w

Subtract 4 both sides

-2w+4-4=-12-4

-2w=-16

Divide by -2 both sides

-2w/-2=-16/-2

w=8
