An oil company located a area of oil sands and began an analysis of two possible extraction methods. The oil is heavy oil, makin

g pumping difficult. The first method of extraction analyzed was Cold Heavy Oil Production with Sand (CHOPS). The system is relatively chepas but extracts only about 10% of the available oil. It also produces a lot of contaminated sand that must be disposed of. The second method is Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD). SAGD requires two parallel wells, one above the other. Steam is pumped into the upper well. The steam heats the heavy oil, which drains into the lower well and is pumped out. This method extracts up to 80% of the oil but is very costly as it requires heating water to steam. No contaminated sand is produced, but oil-contaminated water is.
Evaluate the costs and benefits of each of these extraction methods and identify any other factors that could affect the decision of which method to use:

The cost for CHOPS is in the sand and the extraction of the oil from sand.
The cost for SAGD is the generation of steam.
The benefit for CHOPS is the low cost.
The benefit for SAGD is high extraction efficiency.
The other factors that could affect the decision are fuel cost and the required purity of the oil.

tatyana61 [14]

Answer:

Crater

Explanation:

From the magma chamber (where magma collects) the magma passes through a tunnel-like structure called the conduit. At the top of the conduit is a funnel-shaped area which is called the crater. This is the pathway of magma as it exits the volcano and goes out to the surface, where it will then be called lava.

Molarity of 2%W/V of NaOH is
TiliK225 [7]
Assume it is 1 litre and weighs 1kg.
2 percent of 1 kg is 20g.
20g divided by molar mass of NaOH.
20g divide by 40 = 0.5 mole
0.5 mole in a litre would be 0.5M
That is the answer: 0.5M
