What is 2.8 AS A FRACTION

Mathematics
2 answers:
kogti [31]4 years ago
7 0
0.8 is the same thing as 8/10, we can divide the top and bottom by 2 to simplify it.

8 / 2 = 4
10 / 2 = 5

So 8/10 simplifies to 4/5.

So our full answer will be 2 4/5 or we can change it to an improper fraction.

To do that we multiply the denominator by the whole number and add it to the numerator, and week keep the denominator.

5 * 2 + 4 = 14/5

2.8=\frac{28}{10}=\frac{2 \times 14}{2 \times 5}=\boxed{\frac{14}{5}}
