If it is :

10 -  \frac{ (3x - 1)}{2} =  \frac{(6x + 3)}{11} \\

Multiply both sides by 22

(22 \times  10) - 11 \times (3x - 1) = 2 \times (6x + 3) \\

220   -  33x  +  11 = 12x + 6

- 33x + 231 = 12x + 6

Plus both sides <em>3</em><em>3</em><em>x</em>

231 = 33x + 12x + 6

231 = 45x + 6

Subtract sides minus 6

231 - 6 = 45x

45x = 225

Divided sides by 45

x =  \frac{225}{45} \\

x = 5

If it is :

\frac{10 - (3x - 1)}{2} =  \frac{6x + 3}{11} \\

Multiply sides by 22

(11 \times 10) - 11 \times (3x - 1) = 2 \times (6x + 3) \\

110 - 33x + 11 = 12x + 6

- 33x + 121 = 12x + 6

Plus sides <em>3</em><em>3</em><em>x</em>

121 = 12x + 33x + 6

121 = 45x + 6

Subtract sides minus 6

121 - 6 = 45x

45x = 115

x =  \frac{115}{45} \\

x =  \frac{23}{9} \\

y = -3x - 2

Since a < 0 we have a decreasing line, so it can be only the first or the last

And if we solve the equation for y = 0 we have

0 = -3x - 2

3x = -2

x = -2/3

So, the last one is the right

The height of a stack of 12 pennies is 18.24 millimeters. What is the thickness of each penny.
Helga [31]
I’m not great at math so I could easily be wrong, but

I divided the 18.24 millimeters by 12 pennies and got 1.52

So if the pennies are all the same size, each penny should 1.52 millimeters.

To show work:

18.24/12=1.52
