Mathematics

To find the surface area we deconstruct the figure then add all the areas together.

The area of the rectangle on the bottom is 8*6 or 48.
The side rectangles are 5*6 or 30.
The two triangles are \frac{8*3}{2} or 12.

48+30+30+12+12= 132.

Hope this helps!

IF Q is the midpoint of PR, find the coordinates of R if P(11,-2) and Q(4,3). Write your answer in (x,y) format.
barxatty [35]

Answer:

The coordinates of R is (-3,8)

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for the midpoint of a line segment is;

(x,y) = (x1 + x2)/2, (y1 + y2)/2

In this case, we have (x,y) = (4,3)

and we also have (x1,y1) = (11,-2)

what we do not have is (x2,y2)

From the question, we have that;

(11 + x2)/2 = 4

11 + x2 = 2(4)

11 + x2 = 8

x2 = 8-11

x2 = -3

Also;

(-2 + y2)/2 = 3

-2 + y2 = 2(3)

-2 + y2 = 6

y2 = 6 + 2

y2 = 8

So the coordinates of R is (-3,8)
