Tetanospasmin is a neurotoxin it is associated with the inhibition of inhibitory neurotransmitter called as GABA (γ-aminobutyric acid). The GABA is a widely distributed neurotransmitter which is distributed to the neurons of the cortex. This is associated with the variety of clinical signs such as tetanus, muscular spasm, rigidity, lockjaw, tendon rupture, respiratory difficulty, dysphagia, difficulty in respiration and death.
