The heart lies medial to the left arm in human beings. The heart is a muscular organ. It is about the size of the fist. It is located in thoracic cavity typically medial to the lungs and posterior to the sternum bone. On its superior end, the base of the heart is connected with the aorta, pulmonary artery, and vena cava. The inferior tip of the heart lies superior to the diaphragm.
