1. Which of the following statements best describe the difference between angiosperms and gymnosperms?
GREYUIT [131]
1) C. Gymnosperms are mostly adapted for wind pollination; angiosperms are mostly adapted for animal pollination. This is the best answer, because the others had the two types reversed. Gymnos have "naked" seeded cones, whereas Angios have seeds protected by fruit. Therefore the Angios relies on animals to eat the fruit and to pollinate, whereas Gymnos relied on wind to pollinate the ground. Gymnos came first on Earth and Angios developed later.

2) C. Cuticle. This is a waxy coating helping to keep water in. The main water losses are via stomata.

3) C. Stomata

4) B. Nonvascular

5) B. Gravity

These answers were explained in the questions that I just answered before. So refer to those for explanations.

Sun 101 - Which two complementary forces keep the Sun from blowing itself up?
labwork [276]

Fusion and gravity

Fusion and gravity keep the sun from blowing itself up.  A large amount of energy is released by the sun. Protons are fused together to form helium atoms due to the high heat and pressure at the center of the sun. The Sun does not blow itself up from the outer pressure of nuclear fusion in as much as the inner force of gravity balances it.

Rna polymerases carry out transcription at much lower rates than dna polymerases carry out replication. Why is greater efficienc
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]

Answer:

DNA polymerase is responsible for the catalysis of the replication of a vast region of DNA and the efficiency/speed of the replication is necessary to complete the replication process swiftly.

Explanation:

The difference between replication and transcription, is that in the replication process the DNA is making more copies of itself and in transcription, the DNA is being copied into RNA. DNA replication occurs in preparation for cell division, and transcription occurs in preparation for protein translation
