Use the Pythagorean Theorem.

The length of the path is d, and it is the hypotenuse of the right triangle.

50^2 + 120^2 = d^2

2500 + 14400 = d^2

d^2 = 16900

d = 130

Answer: 130 m

Hello!

You use the Pythagorean theorem to solve this

a^{2} + b^{2} = c^{2}

a and b are the legs
c is the hypotenuse which is the side across from the right angle

put in the values you know

50^{2} + 120^{2} =c^{2}

square the numbers

2500 + 14400 =  c^{2}

add

16900 =  c^{2}

Take the square root of the number

130 = c

The answer is 130m

Hope this helps!

The diagram shows a sector of a circle radius 10cm
Yuki888 [10]

Answer:

\text{Perimeter of sector = 43.6 (Rounded to the nearest tenth.)}

Step-by-step explanation:

\text{Perimeter of the sector = Radius + arc length + radius}

\text{Radius = 10 cm}

\text{Perimeter of the sector = 10 + arc length + 10  }

 \text{Perimeter of the sector = 20 + arc length  }

\text{arc length   = (sector angle/ 360 ) * perimeter of the circle}

\text{Perimeter of a circle }=2\pi r

\text{sector angle} = 135

\text{arc length}   =  (135/ 360 ) * 2\pi (10)

= (3/8) 20\pi

= 15\pi /2

\text{Using  }\pi =3.14

= 15 * 3.14 /2

= 23.55

\text{Perimeter of the sector = 20  + 23.55}

= 43.55

= 43.6  cm

\text{perimeter of the sector  = 43.6  cm }

A fair die with sides numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 is to be rolled until a number greater than 4 first appears. what is the pro
AnnyKZ [126]
First two rolls have to be 1-4 that is 2/3 chance twice and the third can be 4or 5
2/3*2/3*1/3 + the chance that the fourth is the 5 or 6.
2/3*2/3*2/3*1/3

So the solution is : P=2/3*2/3*1/3 + 2/3*2/3*2/3*1/3
