Answer:

0.407

Step-by-step explanation:

To get "<u>probability that a person goes to the movies at least 5 times a month</u>", we need to find total moviegoers that goes to movies EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN 5 (since atleast) and divide by total moviegoers.

We will add 163 and 133 because they are people who go 5 or greater times.

Total moviegoers is equal to 728 (given).

<em>Thus we have:</em>

p(\geq5)=\frac{133+163}{728}\\p(\geq5)=\frac{296}{728}\\p(\geq5)=0.4066

<em>Rounding to nearest thousandth</em>, it is 0.407

There are 163 people going to the movies 5, 6 or 7 times per month

there are 133 people going more than 7 times

So in total, there are 163+133=196 people going to the movies at least 5 times a month.

In total there are 728 people in the experiment.

P(a person goes at least 5 times per month)=n(people going at least 5 times)/n(people in the experiment)

= 196/728=0.269

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

It is given that, Josiah expects a paycheck of $152 for working 20 hours during his first week at a grocery shop.

But, he receives only a check of $129.48

Now, it is asked to find which amount is his gross pay. To find the gross pay, one should known the meaning of the term "gross pay" in detail.

  • Gross pay is defined as the amount of money the employees receive without  any deductions on taxes.
  • Net pay is known as the amount of money the employees take home after all deductions is carried out from the gross pay.

Therefore, in this case, the amount Josiah expects to received without any tax deductions is $152. This is his gross pay.

Josiah was given a paycheck of $129.48 to take home after all the deductions have been done from the gross pay of $152. Thus, it can be concluded that Josiah's gross pay is %152.
