Answer:

Number of cookies bought by Timothy for $ 5 = 10 cookies

→ $1  = 2 Cookies

Here, x = Number of cookies

$y = Total cost of cookies purchased

→10 x cookies = $ 5 y

→ x cookies = $ \frac{y}{2}

→ y = 2 x

So, Number of cookies and it's price represents equation of line in two variable in two dimensional coordinate system,  passing through origin.

Slope of line = 2, which represents that in $ 1 you get two cookies.

The distance from point Y to the y-axis is 4 units and the distance from point Z to the y-axis is 3 units, then the lelgth of the segment YZ is 4+3=7 units.
If <span>a scale factor is 3, then the length of Y'Z' will be 7·3=21 units.

P.S. In the added picture you can see trapezoid ABCD that was dilated by a scale factor 3 about the origin. This may help to understand that all linear values after dilation become multiplied by scale factor.

-12x - 0.4 > 0.2(36.5x + 80) - 55    Remove the brackets.

-12x - 0.4 > 7.3x + 16 - 55               Combine the like terms on the right

-12x - 0.4 > 7.3x - 39                      Add 12x to both sides

- 0.4 > 7.3x + 12x - 39

- 0.4 > 19.3x - 39                            Add 39 to both sides.

-0.4 + 39 > 19.3x                              Combine like terms on the left

38.6 > 19.3x                                    Divide by 19.3

38.6 / 19.3 > x
