The gram formula mass of Na2SO4 is 23*2+32+16*4=142. And the mass for sodium is 23*2=46. So the percent by mass is 46/142*100%=32.4%.

The answer is: the percent by mass of sodium is 32.4%.

The percent by mass is calculated by atomic mass of element multiply by number of that element in molecule divided by molecular mass of molecule.

Ar(Na) = 23; the relative atomic mass of sodium atom.

Mr(Na₂SO₄) = 2 · Ar(Na) + Ar(S) + 4 · Ar(O).

Mr(Na₂SO₄) = 2 · 23 + 32 + 4 · 16.

M(Na₂SO₄) = 142; relative moecular mass of sodium sulfate.

ω(Na)= 2 · Ar(Na) ÷ Mr(Na₂SO₄) · 100%.

ω(Na) = (2 · 23 ÷ 142) · 100%.

ω(Na) = 32.4 %.

Answer:

The answer to your question is the second option

Explanation:

Reaction

               Al₂(SO₄)₃ + KOH ⇒ Al(OH)₃ + K₂SO₄

Process

1.- Check if the reaction is already balanced

                Reactants Elements Products

                      2 Aluminum 1

                      3 Sulfur 1

                     13 Oxygen 7

                      1 Potassium 2

                      1 Hydrogen 3

The reaction is unbalanced

2.- Balance the reaction

                 1Al₂(SO₄)₃ + 6KOH ⇒ 2Al(OH)₃ + 3K₂SO₄

               Reactants Elements Products

                      2 Aluminum 2

                      3 Sulfur 3

                     18 Oxygen 18

                      6 Potassium 6

                      6 Hydrogen 6

Now the reaction is balanced. The coefficients are 1, 6, 2, 3.

Determine the oxidation states of the elements in the compounds listed. None of the oxygen-containing compounds are peroxides or
natka813 [3]

Answer:

Explanation:

You need to remember that the oxidation number of H is +1, except when it is in a metal hydrites like NaH, where its oxidation number is -1. Then, the oxidation number of O is -2, but in peroxides is -1. So with these rules you just have to multiply the ox. number with the name of atoms and all the elements in the reaction must sum 0.

Which type of scientist would most likely study how electricity could be
Nikolay [14]

Electrical engineers are the scientists that study the production of electricity more efficient.

Which type of scientist would study how electricity could be produced more efficiently?

Electrical engineers are the type of scientist that would most likely study how electricity could be produced more efficiently because they produced new technologies which are cost efficient as well as produce high amount of electricity.

So we can conclude that electrical engineers are the scientists that study the production of electricity more efficient.
