Answer:

25 ounces.

Step-by-step explanation:

Weight of first container=4.5 ounces

Weight of second container=5.01 ounces

Weight of third container=5.3 ounces

Weight of fourth container=4.75 ounces

Weight of fifth container=4.9 ounces

Weight of all the containers= sum of weight of all the containers

= 4.5+5.01+5.3+4.75+4.9

=24.46 ounces

24.46 is estimated to whole number as 25

Hence, 25 ounces is correct answer.

The total weight is given by 4.5 + 5.01 + 5.3 + 4.75 + 4.9 = 24.46

The value 24.46 is in between two whole numbers; 24 and 25

The value 24.50 onwards would have been rounded up to 25

The value 24.46 is rounded down to 24 to the nearest whole number

Q#2 Graph the relation in the table.Then use the vertical-line test.Is the relation a function
tresset_1 [31]
The graph of the relation between x and y is as shown in attached figure

By applying the vertical line test we find that the relation is not a function because there are two points which are (1,-1) , (1,3) have the same value of x with different values of y which contradicts with with the rule of function.

An engineer is going to redesign an ejection seat for an airplane. the seat was designed for pilots weighing between 130lb and 1
Vlad [161]

Answer: 0.4758

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Mean : \mu=137\text{ lb}

Standard deviation : \sigma =28.9\text{ lb}

Also, the new population of pilots has normally distributed .

The formula to calculate the z-score :-

z=\dfrac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

For x=130 lb .

z=\dfrac{130-137}{28.9}=-0.2422145\approx-0.24

For x=171lb.

z=\dfrac{171-137}{28.9}=1.1764705\approx1.18

The p-value =P(-0.24

=0.8809999-0.4051651=0.4758348\approx0.4758348\approx0.4758

Hence, the required probability : 0.4758

Find the value of x that makes lines u and v parallel.
omeli [17]

Answer:

x = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

From the picture attached,

If the lines u and v are parallel and a third line (transversal) is intersecting these lines at two distinct points,

Both the angles given in the picture, will be equal in measure as these angles are interior alternate angles.

16x = 15x + 5

16x - 15x = 5

x = 5

Therefore, x = 5 makes the lines v and u parallel.
