Really
just calculate the slope
slope is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

for x=0, y=1
for x=1, y=3

slope=(y1-y1)/(x-x1)=(3-1)/(1-0)=2/1=2

answer is 2

Surface area is always measured in square units.<br><br> True<br> False
OLEGan [10]
<h3>Answer: True</h3>

Often we replace "units" with something like "feet" or "meters"

examples: square feet, square meters, square yards, etc

The "square" refers to the idea that any surface area can be unwrapped and lay flat, then you can break the area of that flat figure into smaller squares. A good example of this is a dice has 6 faces and each face is a square itself, so the total surface area is the sum of all the 6 square areas.

A soccer ball is kicked from 3 feet above the ground. the height,h, in feet of the ball after t seconds is given by the function
dexar [7]
Here's our equation.

h=-16t+64t+3

We want to find out when it returns to ground level (h = 0)

To find this out, we can plug in 0 and solve for t.

0 = -16t+64t+3 \\ 16t-64t-3=0 \\ use\ the\ quadratic\ formula\ \frac{-b\±\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}  \\ \frac{-(-64)\±\sqrt{(-64)^2-4(16)(-3)}}{2*16}  = \frac{64\±\sqrt{4096+192}}{32}

= \frac{64\±\sqrt{4288}}{32} = \frac{64\±8\sqrt{67}}{32} = \frac{8\±\sqrt{67}}{4} = \boxed{\frac{8+\sqrt{67}}{4}\ or\ 2-\frac{\sqrt{67}}{4}}

So the ball will return to the ground at the positive value of \boxed{\frac{8+\sqrt{67}}{4}} seconds.

What about the vertex? Simple! Since all parabolas are symmetrical, we can just take the average between our two answers from above to find t at the vertex and then plug it in to find h!

\frac{1}2(\frac{8+\sqrt{67}}{4}+2-\frac{\sqrt{67}}{4}) = \frac{1}2(2+\frac{\sqrt{67}}{4}+2-\frac{\sqrt{67}}{4}) = \frac{1}2(4) = 2

h=-16t^2+64t+3 \\ h=-16(2)^2+64(2)+3 \\ \boxed{h=67}

6. Christopher wants to leave a 15% tip for his breakfast. His breakfast cost $23.00, how
Anestetic [448]

Answer:

$3.45

Step-by-step explanation:

The tip is 15% of his breakfast, that means 15% of 23

That is 15%* 23= 15*23/100= 3.45 $

The tip is $3.45

Have a good day.

Last year a construction worker had a gross income $ 29,700, of the which he contributed 7% to his 401(k) plain. If he got paid
AlladinOne [14]

Divide the gross income by 12 to find his monthly pay:

29,700 / 12 =$2,475 per month.

Multiply his monthly pay by 7%:

2,475 x 0.07 = $173.25 into his 401(k) per month.

The answer is A.
