Givens

Area: x^2 - 80x - 1500

Width: x - 30

Length: ??

Solution

x^2 - 80x - 1500 will factor

Area = (x - 30) (x - 50)

Length = Area / width

Length = ( (x - 30)(x - 50) ] / (x - 30)

Length = x - 50

Comment

You could say that the width = 30

And the length = 50

But I don't think that is what you are asked for.

The parallelogram is reflected across the line y = x. Which of the following are coordinates of a vertex of the image?
Korvikt [17]

Answer:

A'(1,-5)

Step-by-step explanation:

The coordinates of the given quadrilaterals are

A(-5,1),B(-4,3),C(-2,1),D(-3,-1)

The reflection in the line y=x has the mapping,

(x,y)\rightarrow(y,x)

We just have to swap the coordinates.

This implies that,

A(-5,1)\rightarrow A'(1,-5)

B(-4,3)\rightarrow B'(3,-4)

C(-2,1)\rightarrow C'(1,-2)

D(-3,-1)\rightarrow D'(-1,-3)

Therefore the correct answer is A.

A'(1,-5)

Nirmala graphed the relationship between the duration (in hours) of using an oil lamp and the volume (in milliliters) of oil rem
mariarad [96]

Answer:

Nirmala can use the lamp for 31.66 hours before it runs out of oil.

Step-by-step explanation:

From the graph,

Take any two points, let say

(15, 25)

(25, 10)

\mathrm{Slope\:between\:two\:points}:\quad \mathrm{Slope}=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

\left(x_1,\:y_1\right)=\left(15,\:25\right),\:\left(x_2,\:y_2\right)=\left(25,\:10\right)

m=\frac{10-25}{25-15}

m=-\frac{3}{2}

The equation of line in slope-intercept form

y = mx + b

Putting m=-\frac{3}{2}  and any point, let say (25, 10), to find the y-intercept 'b'

10=-\frac{3}{2}\left(25\right)+b

-\frac{3}{2}\left(25\right)+b=10

-\frac{75}{2}+b=10

\mathrm{Add\:}\frac{75}{2}\mathrm{\:to\:both\:sides}

-\frac{75}{2}+b+\frac{75}{2}=10+\frac{75}{2}

b=\frac{95}{2}

b=47.5

So the equation of line will be:

y = mx + b

y=-\frac{3}{2}x+47.5

In order to find how long Nirmala can use the lamp before it runs out of oil, we need to find x-intercept which can be obtained by putting y = 0, and solve for x, as duration lies on x-axis.

so

y=-\frac{3}{2}x+47.5

Putting y = 0

0=-\frac{3}{2}x+47.5

-\frac{3}{2}x+47.5=0

-\frac{3}{2}x=-47.5

\mathrm{Multiply\:both\:sides\:by\:}2

2\left(-\frac{3}{2}x\right)=2\left(-47.5\right)

-3x=-95

\mathrm{Divide\:both\:sides\:by\:}-3

\frac{-3x}{-3}=\frac{-95}{-3}

x=\frac{95}{3}

x=31.66

Therefore, Nirmala can use the lamp for 31.66 hours before it runs out of oil.

X-intercept: 3<br> y-intercept: 2
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer:

y = -2/3x + 2

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>Hey there!</em>

<em />

Well since we already got the y-intercept to find slope we'll use the points,

(3,0) and (0,2).

Formula: \frac{y^2 - y^1}{x^2 - x^1}

Plug in the given points,

\frac{2 - 0}{0 - 3}

Slope = -2/3

Slope-intercept: y = -2/3x + 2

<em>Hope this helps :)</em>

Find the value of y<br>possible answers are:<br>A. y=1.8<br>B. y=7.2<br>C. y=9<br>D. y=16.2
Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

I believe the answer is C.

Step-by-step explanation:

I put in 9 into the y

6(9)= 54

4(9)+18=

36+18= 54

Add them with the right angles (which are 90)

Leaves the other angles KLH, FLH being 36
